<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM INFORMATION <br /> <br />Community Participation in NFIP <br /> <br />Both the City of Sterling and Logan County are participants in good standing with the NFIP. Neither <br />community is under investigation for non-compliance issues which, if verified could result in their <br />being placed on probation or suspension with the NFIP. <br /> <br />Relation or Project Site To FEMA Floodplain <br /> <br />Most of the City of Sterling is within desigro~te<l Zone A and/or Zone X. The most recent Flood <br />Insurance Rate Map has an effective date of September 29, 1989. The FIRM maps have been <br />reproduced as Figure 14. This figure is a compost of FIRM Panel Numbers 080294 0001 C (City of <br />Ster1ing) and 080110 0330B, 0340 B, 0325 B and 0335 A.(Logan County). It must be noted that the <br />City rests near the confluence of several major drainageways, and the FIRM reflects the total impact of <br />these drainageways. Improvements proposed with this analysis address only the flooding caused in the <br />City by the Pawnee Creek overflow which historically has been the source of greatest impact to the <br />City. <br /> <br />NFIP Compliance <br /> <br />Both the City of Sterling and Logan County are in compliance with NFIP as demonstrated by the <br />letters included in Section 4, Tab 3. <br /> <br />m-43 <br />
