No. 153 \ I COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 state Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 January 30, 1980 R E ~ 0 L U T ~. 0 N WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance study, Adams County, Colorado, Unincorporated Areas," which includes floodplain information and data for the South Platte River, Big Dry Creek, Little Dry Creek, Little Comanche Creek, Comanche Creek, BOx Elder Creek, Niver Creek, and Northfield Creek, dated August, 1978, has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels Or basins of the study area; and WHEREAS, floodplain information and data have been adopted by resolution for the South Platte River dated November 15, 1977; Big Dry Creek dated July II, 1973; Little Dry Creek dated November I, 1978; and Niver Creek dated July 21, 1974; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Adams County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of lOcal jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for. land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Con$ervation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdic- tions; and WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas thOse areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood)
