Four types of corrective measures were considered in-
cluding flood proofing the building, moving the build-
ing, channelizing the stream, and levee construction.
Based on economic, safety, and camper experience criteria,
we recommend that the levee construction alternative be
implemented. A typical levee construction detail is
shown on Sheet 1 of 2, Flood Plain Plan. The suggested
top elevation profile of the levee is shown on Sheet 2
of 2, Flood Plain Profile and Cross Sections. The 100
year flood water surface profile with levee in place
shown on Sheet 2, is based on sub-critical flow. Veloc-
ities in the channel section would range from 6 to 10
feet per second.

Gingery Associates, Inc. will remain available to answer
questions you may have concerning this report or to
assist you during the construction process if you elect
to proceed with the construction of the levee.

Prepa.red by:

GINGERY ASSOCIATES, INC.

t:~f#1~

Manager, Glenwood Springs Office

-7-
