The VAX 11/750 is equipped with 32 modems, <br /> <br /> <br />enabling the handling of 32 users simultaneously. The ~ivision of Water <br /> <br /> <br />Resources has negotiated with the U. S. Geological Survey-Water Resources <br /> <br /> <br />Division (Denver) and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Love- <br /> <br /> <br />land) to utilize their downlinks as backups. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The primary operations goal is to maintain data base <br />Real-time data are of no value unless the data are accurate. <br /> <br />integrity. <br />Considerable <br /> <br />effort is maintained to ensure that the remote hardware-sensor interface <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />remains in calibration. This effort becomes compounded by the fact that over <br />ha lf of these gaging stat ions are operated by other ent it i es that generally <br />are not utilizing the data to make real-time decisions. Data values that fall <br />outside of normal operating ranges are flagged to alert the data base manager. <br /> <br />!. <br /> <br />The Division of Water Resources is responsible for system maintenance. <br /> <br />.-. <br /> <br />Each Division office was provided with two sets of replacement hardware. If a <br /> <br />component is determined to be malfunctioning, that component is replaced and <br />returned to the manufacturer for repair.
