WHEREAS,'the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as . . <br />requested by the Board of County COIlUTlissionersof.Larimercounty, <br />by resolution adopted June ), ..1970,approved and designated the <br />floodplains described in the May, 1970, report; .and. <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />Larimer County,. Colorado," which includes.floodplain information <br />and data forthe.Big Thompson River, Fall River,' Fish.Creek,. Buck- <br />. horn Creek; Redstone Creek, Dry. Creek, . and BoxelderCreek,dated <br />september, 1978, has been prepared by Gingery Associates,Inc., <br />under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said flood insurance study describes and outlines <br />the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater <br />runoff channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, the Board of CountyCoIlUTlissipners of. Larimer <br />..Cotinty. has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />. . designate. and approve the floodplain areas as set .foi;'th in .the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS,Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the COlorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />. the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />. . . <br />. WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and.. 30-28-l11,Colorado <br />Revised statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; . and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation.Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and .to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br />
