WHEREAS, the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorpora ted Jefferson County does not include previously designated and approved detailed floodplain information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins contained in certain floodplain delineation reports, as set forth in Table 6, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson County includes floodplain delineations by approximate methods for certain stream reaches, asset forth in Table 7, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information and the approximate floodplain information in t~e said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson County are consistent wi th the detailed floodplain information and approximate floodplain information contained in various previously designated floodplain delineation reports for adjacent communities; and WHEREAS, Board of Commissioners of Jefferson County has requested by letter dated September 28, 1987, that the Colorado Water Conservation Board designate and approve certain floodplain areas set forth in the aforesaid Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson County; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, redesignation of certain stream reaches delineated in the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson County requires rescission of portions or all of previous designations, as listed in said Table 2; and WHEREAS, designation of certain stream reaches delineated in the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson County does not require rescission of any portion of certain previous designations, as listed in said Tables 4, 5, and 6; and -3-
