<br />WHEREAS, the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorpora ted <br />Jefferson County does not include previously designated and <br />approved detailed floodplain information for the storm and <br />floodwater runoff channels or basins contained in certain <br />floodplain delineation reports, as set forth in Table 6, <br />attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated <br />Jefferson County includes floodplain delineations by <br />approximate methods for certain stream reaches, asset forth in <br />Table 7, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated <br />herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information and the <br />approximate floodplain information in t~e said Flood Insurance <br />Study for unincorporated Jefferson County are consistent wi th <br />the detailed floodplain information and approximate floodplain <br />information contained in various previously designated <br />floodplain delineation reports for adjacent communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Board of Commissioners of Jefferson County has <br />requested by letter dated September 28, 1987, that the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board designate and approve certain <br />floodplain areas set forth in the aforesaid Flood Insurance <br />Study for unincorporated Jefferson County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, redesignation of certain stream reaches delineated <br />in the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson <br />County requires rescission of portions or all of previous <br />designations, as listed in said Table 2; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, designation of certain stream reaches delineated <br />in the said Flood Insurance Study for unincorporated Jefferson <br />County does not require rescission of any portion of certain <br />previous designations, as listed in said Tables 4, 5, and 6; and <br /> <br />-3- <br />
