WHEREAS, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha
District, has completed for the city of Fort Collins and the
County of Larimer Flood Plain Information Report, Cache La poudre
River, Colorado, Volume I, Fort Collins, Larimer County, dated
October 1973; and

WHEREAS, said Flood Plain Information Report outlines
and describes the flood water runoff channels within the above
described areas; and

WHEREAS,' Article 149-1-11(4). Colorado Revised Statutes
1963. requires that the Color,ado Water Conservation Board designate
and approve storm or flood water runoff channels and to make such
designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and

WHEREAS, Article 139-60-1, Colorado Revised Statutes
1963, provides that such cities, towns, incorporated areas and
local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for any storm
or flood water runoff channel only after designation and approval
by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and the County of
Larimer have requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to
designate and approve the flood hazard areas as set forth in the
aforesaid U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Flood Plain Information
Report; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said Flood
Plain Information Report and does hereby recommend to the
Colorado Water Conservation Board that said Board designate and
approveas flood hazard-area-s--Those areas- setfo'r-tl1---rn the report
as being subject to an intermediate regional flood;
