I. AUTHORITY FOR INTERIM REVIEW SURVEY.- The following interim
report on rev iew survey for flood contro I at Las An imas, Co I 0., and
vicinity, is submitted in partial compliance with the provisions of
resolutions of the Committee on C~mmerce, U.S. Senate, adopted Sep-
tember 30, 1942, and the Committe~ on Flood Controi, House of Repre-
sentatives, adopted July 2, 1943, which read as fol lows:

Resolved by the Committee on Commerce of the
Un ited States Senate, That the Board of Eng ineers
for Rivers and Harbors, created under Section 3
of the River and Harbor Act approved June 13, 1902,
be, and is hereby, requested to review the report
on the Arkansas River and its tributaries, published
in House Document Numbered 308, Seventy-fourth Con-
gress, First Session, with a view to determining if
further improvement of the Arkansas River and its
tributaries in Colorado in the interest of flood
control is advisable at the present time.
