<br />FPR 96-422 <br />City of Leadville <br /> <br />COLORADO W ATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 13, 1996 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Insurance Administration completed floodplain information <br />mapping entitled "Flood Hazard Boundary Map, City of Leadville, Colorado, Lake County", <br />dated March 7,1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said mapping includes approximate .floodplain delineations for the storm <br />and floodwater runoff channels and basins, but does not include hydrology information for the <br />storm and floodwater runoff channels and basins, within the corporate limits of the City of <br />Leadville, as they were on March 7, 1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new floodplain information report entitled "Floodplain Information <br />Report, City of Leadville, Colorado", dated April 10, 1996 has been prepared by the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report includes the floodplain delineations of the Flood Hazard <br />Boundary Map dated March 7,1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report dated April 10, 1996 with the floodplain delineations for <br />the City of Leadville includes approximate floodplain information for California Gulch and an <br />unnamed tributary to California Gulch; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hydrology information for the approximate floodplain for California <br />Gulch in said new report with included mapping has been estimated in accordance with the <br />Guidelines for Determining IOO-Year Flood Flows for Approximate Floodplains in <br />Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a procedure for determining hydrology information in the City of Leadville <br />for approximate floodplains of streams with drainage areas that are outside of the acceptable <br />size range, lakes, ponds, and local drainage areas has not been established by the Guidelines for <br />Determining IOO-year Flows for Approximate Floodplains in Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the streams with drainage areas that are outside of the acceptable size <br />range, lakes, ponds, local drainage areas, and irrigation ditches may be designated as <br />approximate floodplain information without a procedure for estimating 100-year peak flows, as <br />
