Waneka Reservoir is expected to serve as a water supply reservoir <br /> <br />for the City of Lafayette in the near future. At present it is an irrigation <br /> <br />., <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />L____ <br /> <br />water supply reservoir. The rOO-year floodplain from Coal Creek covers only <br /> <br />small portions of incorporated areas of Lafayette, and agricultural lands in <br /> <br />Boul der County. <br /> <br />Existing development in the basin includes single- and multi-family residential, <br /> <br />commercial, industrial and semi-publ ic areas. Much of the basin at this time <br /> <br />consi sts of open agri cultural areas, particul arly north of Basel i ne Road. The <br /> <br />FIGURE I <br /> <br />more recent developments have been constructed with drainage systems intended to <br /> <br />convey initial storm runoff from individual sites only, with little major <br /> <br />drainageway planning carried out.
