A small drainage ditch has been
provided by residential developments, which convey stormwaters south, through
the basin, to Coal Creek. The upper reach of the ditch (serving residential
areas north of South Boulder Road), is tributary to a detention pond at South
Boulder Road and Atlantis Circle. The detention is drained by 36-inch pipe
under South Boulder Road, to the lower reaches of the drainage ditch serving
Centaur Village, and ultimately to Coal Creek. Present land uses in the basin
are light commercial, residential, school and business development.

TABLE 2
Maj or Sub-basin Characteristics
Basin Basin
Area Length Slope Future %
Basin No, (acres) (ft) (ft) (ftjft) Imperviousness
1 325 10,700 6,860 ,015 37
2 905 18,100 12,740 .015 32
3 320 12, 100 6,850 ,015 35
4 470 8,100 4,845 .009 45
5 510 11,100 9,650 ,014 37
6 135 7,900 2,670 .015 46
7 355 8,300 3,240 .016 40

Major Sub-Basin 7: The land ownerships in this basin consist of private, City
of Lafayette, City of Louisville, and Boulder County. Presently no drainage
conveyances exist in the basin except for a small ditch I'kiich lies directly v.est
of the Centaur Village development and serves a new residential development
lying between Centaur Village and Colorado Highway 42, This drainage ditch
terminates at Coal Creek. Present land uses consist of residential and light
commercial areas.

The hydrologic characteristics for each major basin are summarized below in
Table 2. It should be noted that the basin boundaries, and therefore acreages,
have been developed during the formulation of the selected alternative plan,
and do not reflect the total area of the Lafayette basin.

10

11
