RE: Attending a flood management presentation

On behalf of the City of Grand Junction and Mesa County, Colorado, you are
invited to attend a presentation of the Flood Hazard Study completed by
,Greenhorne and O'Mara wlich analyzes the effects of flood conditions in
Grand Junction and the :ollbran areas,

A Technical presentatiol and review of the study viiI I be hel d on Monday,
January 23 at 1:30 p,m. (following an earlier presentation for the el ected
and appointed officials and media,) It will be held in the City/County
Auditorium located at 250 Rood, Grand Junction, Colorado, lasting approximately
1 hour,

This study was requested, in part, as a result of the f'looding experienced
in spring of 1983 and tile potential for similar problems in the futuY'e. The
study and presentation includes an evaluation of existing facilities. recom-
mendations of improvements and information to aid in rronitorinq flood levels
in the Colorado River and Plateau Creek drainage.

The study will provide Grand Junction and Mesa County hydrologic and hydraulic
information to help manage flood warning, protection, evacuation and emergency
response for conditions of high water flows.

I hope you will be able to attend, Copies of the study will be disty'ibuted
for review and comment 'n the upcoming weeks, If you or your representative
