<br />~,,-, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Rio Grande <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid new Flood Insurance Study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1}(c}, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1}(c}, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, designation of the said Flood Insurance Study for <br />unincorporated Rio Grande County does not require rescission of <br />portions or all of the aforesaid pr~vious designations adopted <br />by ReSOlution Nos. 193, 194, and 195; and <br /> <br />, <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas <br />those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate <br />regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface <br />elevations and profiles in said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, <br />Colorado, this 15th day of May , 1987, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas described <br />as being inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the <br />floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board is <br />directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the <br />Town of Del Norte, the City of Monte Vista, the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Rio Grande County, the U.S. Soil Conservation <br />service, the Colorado Division of Disaster Emergency Services, <br />and the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br /> <br />-3- <br />
