No. 120 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 1, 1978 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />Town of pagosa Springs and Unincorporated Areas of Archuleta <br />County, Colorado," which includes floodplain information and <br />data for the SanJuan River, McCabe Creek, North Fork McCabe <br />Creek, West Fork McCabe Creek, and Rio Blanco, dated July, 1978, <br />has been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., under contract <br />with the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the flood~ <br />plain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Archuleta <br />County, has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages <br />therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local jurisdictionSi and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles <br />in said report; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting. assembled in Denver, <br />Colorado, this 1st day of November, 1978, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas described <br />as being inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the flood- <br />water surface elevations and profiles in said report; and <br />
