William McDonald, Director <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 823 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Colorado Water Conservation Board's Designation of <br />the Flood Insurance Studt for Jefferson County <br /> <br />Dear Mr, McDonald: <br /> <br />The undersigned hereby request that the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board officially designate the floodplain information <br />contained in the August 5, 1986, Flood Insurance Study and the <br />July 23, 1987, Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) prepared by <br />F.E.M.A. The July 23, 1987 LO~~ removes floodplain elevations <br />from exact to approximate from upper Bear Creek, above Evergreen <br />Lake, until a mountain hydrology assessment can be completed. <br />This assessment is due to be completed by about December 1, 1987. <br />At that time, FEMA will adjust mountain flows and floodplain <br />if warranted via its normal amendment process. If this occurs, <br />we will be requesting that these changes also be officially <br />designated by CWCB. <br /> <br />We request that this designation be adopted at the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board's tentative hearings scheduled November <br />19, 20, 1987.
