<br />In accordance with Section 37'{)0-106 (1) (c) C.RS" as amended, the Town of Calhan is requesting that
<br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board consider the rescission of flood hazard areas within the
<br />incorporated portions of the Town, as depicted on tile Flood Hazard Boundary Map for Calhan and on the
<br />Flood Insurance Rate Map for Calhan, The Flood Hazard Boundary Map and the Flood Insurance Rate
<br />Map both contain approximate floodplain informatiDn for streams within the Town. The Town of Calhan
<br />believes that both floodplain maps contain inaccurate approximate floodplain information, Both maps are
<br />inconsistent with the detailed floodplain information contained in the NRCS report entitled <<Flood Plain
<br />Management Study, Town of Calhan, El Paso County, Colorado'", dated August 1995, which was
<br />designated and approved by the Colorado Water Col1Servation Board on January 29. 1997.

<br />We would like for CWCB staff to review the floodplain map entitled <<Flood Hazard Boundary Map, Town
<br />of CaIhan, CO, EI Paso County'", dated January 17, 1975, and the floodplain map entitled <<Flood
<br />Insurance Rate Map, Town ofCalhan, Colorado, El Paso County'", dated March 18, 1986, for rescission at
<br />the CWCB's regular meeting scheduled for March ;W-21, 1997, We request that the detailed information
<br />contained in the 1995 NRCS report be the only floodplain information for the Town of CaIhan that is
<br />officially approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board,
