.
I.

.

of constructing, operating and maintaining it is 4.75, which is an unusual-
ly favorable ratio.

I

In order to reduce flood damages in the Little Dry Creek Basin, it is re-

commended that flood plain zoning be implemented as soon as possible to

prevent further encroachment on natural flood plains, and that the proposed

drainageway improvements be designed and constructed as soon as financing

can be arranged,

I

I

Giving priority to improvements with the highest benefit-cost ratios:

I

1. Englewood Dam should be improved first to meet present safety
standards.

2. The other detention dams should be built next.

3. Channel and conduit construction are highest in cost and third in
order of priority based on benefit-cost ratio. Channel and con-
duit capacities are only sufficient for flood flows that have been
reduced by detention storage.

I

I

I

The improvements presented herein are preliminary designs. Final designs

and specifications will have to be prepared before construction of the works

can be undertaken.

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

-2-
