II
I

I

up to Quincy Avenue the width of the overland flow would vary from about

100 feet to 900 feet. Fences are the main obstructions to flow in this

reach. A well-defined channel exists along Quincy Gulch for a distance of

800 feet between Quincy Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, The waterway is

grass lined with trees and bushes alongside. Three fences cross the

channel.

I

I

I

The Colorado Boulevard roadway embankment forms a 2.0 acre irrigation water

storage pond to the east of the road. About 2.5 feet of freeboard is

maintained below the roadway pavement. From the pond at Colorado Boule-

vard to the High1ine Canal, the channel is grassed, clean and unobstructed

except for two fences. The upper half of the channel lies in a loop of

the High1ine Canal.

I

I

I

No provision has been made to pass surface runoff from Quincy Gulch across

the High1ine Canal and low frequency storm runoff flows into the canal.

The channel extending from the canal about 500 feet upstream to the Dahlia

Street and Oxford Avenue intersection, the upper limit of this study, is

shallow and wide and contains trees, grasses, and weeds. The Quincy Gulch

channel was studied by this firm for Cherry Hills Village. A copy of the

report on that study is appended to this report.

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

-25-
