Box 1190
Fort Collins, CO 80522-1190

Community: Larimer County, CO
Community No.: 080101
Panels Affected: 0193 E and 0194 E
Effective Date of J U L 0 6 2001
This Revision:

102-I-C

Dear Ms. Rennels:

This responds to a request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective
Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for your community in accordance with Part 65 of the National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations. In a letter dated March 7, 2001, Mr. Gregory J. Koch, P.E.,
Project Manager, Anderson Consulting Engineers, Inc., requested that FEMA revise the FIRM to show
the effects of more detailed topographic information for the southern portion of the Burlington Northern
Railroad (BNRR) embankment along the right overbank of the Cache La Poudre River from just
upstream of Horsetooth Road to approximately 9,900 feet upstream of the BNRR.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Koch.
Because this Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) is based on flood hazard information meant to improve
upon that shown on the flood map or within the flood study, and does not partially or wholly incorporate
manmade modifications within the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), fees were not assessed for the
review. The SFHA is the area that would be inundated by the flood having a I-percent chance of being
equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood).

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM.
We have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineations of the base flood along the
Cache La Poudre River from just upstream of Horse tooth Road to approximately 9,900 feet upstream of
the BNRR. As a result of the modifications, the width of the SFHA for the Cache La Poudre River
increased in some areas and decreased in other areas. The modifications are shown on the enclosed
annotated copies of FIRM Panels 0193 E and 0194 E. This LOMR hereby revises the above-referenced
panels ofthe effective FIRM dated March 18, 1996.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panels as listed above and as
modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your
community.
