This action enhances and strengthens a
community's ability to regulate land uses within their jurisdiction if they so choose.

The CWCB coordinates the flood control and floodplain management activities and programs
for the State and is the State Coordinator for the National Flood Insurance Program. We urge
local jurisdictions to continue utilizing floodplain zoning and land use regulations to prevent
unwise development within flood prone areas of the community. Our office would be happy to
assist you with any floodplain related issues that you may have.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, or if we can be of further assistance, please
don't hesitate to call me at (303) 866-3441.

Sincerely,

.
