ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

As part of the ongoing efforts of the Interagency Mitigation Advisor: .3roup (IMAG) made up of
State, Federal and volunteer agency representatives, a planning subcommittee was organized to
develop a simple Model Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) Handbook. The Handbook itself will
allow a jurisdiction to develop an acceptable HMP by addressing the items in a prescribed
outline. One of the IMAG's responsibilities is to review all potential mitigation projects in the
State and make a recommendation regarding feasibility and funding. With the IMAG overseeing
the State's mitigation program, effective planning will be recognized, and jurisdictions ""ill be
eligible for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) as well as the Flood Mitigation
Assistance Program (FMAP).

The following agencies and individuals, who worked diligently since 1993 on the flood recovery,
are hereby recognized for their contributions to the mitigation planning- effort and the
development of this Model Hazard Mitigation Plan Handbook:

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Becky Aduddell
Stephanie Alto
Henry Ceperich
Patrick Glithero
Ben Hendrickson
Bill Powers
Rich Roths
Randy Strong

Illinois Emergency Management Agency (lEMA)
Ron Davis
Jan Horton
Patrick Massey
Steve McMaster
Doug Moslehi

Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA)
Mark Gauss
Stewart Schrodt

Illinois Department of Natural Resources-Office of Water Resources
(formerly part of the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Water Resources)
David Boyce
Janis Kielbasa
Paul Osman
Molly 1.
