WHEREAS, the united States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha
District, completed a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Plain Information, Volume IV, Denver Metropolitan Region, Colorado,"
dated October, 1968, which includes Lakewood Gulch; and

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as
requested by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolu-
tion,adoptedMay 7, '1969, approved and designated the floodplains
described in said report; and

WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Hazard Area
Delineation, LakewoodGulch," dated February, 1979, has been pre-
pared by Sellards & Grigg, Inc., at the request of the Urban
Drainage and Flood Control District, the city of Lakewood, the city
and 'County of Denver, and Jefferson County; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels
or basins of the stUdy area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and ,Flood Control District
has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate
and apprOve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid
report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local

designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board;
and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (cl, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to
designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins
and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of
local jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said revised
information and data and does hereby recommend to the Colorado
