WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of
Red Cliff, Eagle County, Colorado," which includes floodplain
information and data for the Eagle River and Turkey Creek,dated
December 1979, has' been prepared by (;ingery Associates, Inc.,
under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the flOOdplain
data and information fOr the storm and floodwater runoff channels
or basins 'of the study area; and

. WHEREAS, the>Town of RedCli.ff has requested the colorado
Water Conservation Board to designate and, approve the ,floodplain
areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado water Conservation Board'tb assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes,1973, provide that such legislative bodies o'f lOcal
jurisdict,ions may provide, zoning regulations for land uses on or
along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the ColoradO Water Conservation Board;
and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the ColoradO water Conservation Board to designate
and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to
make such designations available to legislative bodi'es of local
jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS, the staff of the BOard has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the colorado water Conservation Board
that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those
areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood)
as described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in
said report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the ColoradO Water Conser-
vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado,
this 2nd day of December, 1980, that it does hereby designate and
approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated
by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface eleva-
tions and prOfiles in said r~port; and
