<br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
<br />'Hazard Area Delineation, Sloans Lake Basin," dated October. 1977,
<br />has been prepared ,by the URS Company at the request of the Urpan
<br />Drainage' and Flood Control District, the city and County of Denyer,
<br />the city of Edgewater, the city of Lake wOod, and the city of Wheat
<br />Ridge, 'Colorado; and
<br />
<br />,WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
<br />data and information for the storm arid floodwater runoff channels or
<br />basins of '~estudy area; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control Distri,ct
<br />has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to'designate and
<br />apprOve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report;
<br />and
<br />
<br />;: .

<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60~106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
<br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
<br />the prevention of, floods and flood, damages therefrom; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30..,28-111, ColOrado Revised
<br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
<br />dictions mar provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
<br />storm or flpodwaterrunoff channel or basin only after designation
<br />and approval by the Colorado Water Cons,ervation Board; and' _
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), ColOradO Revised
<br />Statutes 1973, ,directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board t,b>

<br />----------antl~o make such designations available to legislative bodies ,of
<br />Deal jurisdictions; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report
<br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
<br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those'areas
<br />inundated by a lOO-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as
<br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said
<br />report;
