<br />Table 3, "Flood Insurance Zone: Data," summarizes the flood elevation <br />differences, Flood Hazard Factors, flood insurance zones, and base <br />flood elevations for each flooding source studied in detail in the <br />cormnunity. <br /> <br />, <br />5.4 Flood Insurance Rate Map Description <br /> <br />The Flood Insurance Rate Map for the City of Greenwood Village is, <br />for insurance purposes, the principal result of the Flood Insurance <br />study. This map contains the official delineation of flood insur- <br />ance zones and base flood elevation lines. Base flood elevation <br />lines show the locations of the expected whole-foot water-surface <br />elevation of the base (lOa-year) flood. This map is developed in <br />accordance with the latest flood insurance map preparation guide- <br />lines published by the Federal Insurance Administration. <br /> <br />6.0 OTHER S'I'TmIF.S <br /> <br />There are seven published reports pertaining to the flooding sources of <br />Greenwood Village. <br /> <br />J <br />In October 1968, the U.S, Army Corps of Engineers completed a Flood Plain <br />Information Report that included tHe portions of Big Dry Creek, Little <br />Dry Creek, and Greenwood Gulch witHin the Greenwood Village study area. <br />This report was approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board on <br />May 7, 1969 (Reference 9). Since that time two studies which rescind <br />portions of the original U,S, Army Corps of Engineers report have been <br />completed and approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board. <br /> <br />The Major Drainageway Planning, Little Dry Creek Report (Reference 1), <br />was approved by the Colorado Water :Conservation Board on June 21, 1974. <br />The report contained studies of portions of Little Dry Creek and Greenwood <br />Gulch that flow through Greenwood ~illage. The peak discharges and the <br />lOa-year profile developed in the report were used in the present Flood <br />Insurance Study. Therefore, the studies are in agreement throughout the <br />communi ty , <br /> <br />The Major Drainageway Master Plan ~ig Dry Creek (References 3 and 4), <br />was approved on July 9, 1975 by the Colorado Water Conservation Board, <br />This rescinded and revised the BigiDry Creek flood plain determined in <br />the original U,S. Army Corps of Engineer Flood Plain Information report <br />of October 1968, A comparison of tihe Flood Insurance Study to the Master <br />plan was made and the final results were in agreement. <br /> <br />The Goldsmith Gulch Flood Hazard Area Delineation Report (Reference 2), <br />provided the peak discharges and the 10- and lOa-year profiles used in <br />this study. <br /> <br />14 <br />
