<br />, <br /> <br />3/13/95 <br /> <br />B-C PROGRAM: Mini-Tutorial <br /> <br />Mini-Tutorial for Novice Computer & Windows Users <br /> <br />Computer On <br /> <br />Turn on the computer and monitor, <br /> <br />Mouse <br /> <br />The computer's mouse has a button on each side. The mouse moves <br />the cursor on the screen and activates menus or buttons. <br /> <br />There are two main uses of the mouse: activating a menu or button, and <br />positioning the cursor. To activate the menu or a function represented on <br />the row(s) of icons below the menu (the Button Bar or the Power Bar), <br />hold down the left button while moving the mouse until the desired area <br />on the screen is highlighted (known as dragging the mouse). Then <br />release the mouse button (the area will remain highlighted) and activate <br />the menu item or a function represented on the Button Bar or the Power <br />Bar: click the left button rapidly once and release (known as clicking the <br />mouse), For other uses, click the left button rapidly twice (known as <br />double-clicking the mouse). <br /> <br />To position the cursor on the screen, move the mouse until the pointer on <br />the screen rests on the item desired, then click the mouse (Le" click the <br />left button) to place the cursor at that location, (The cursor is the <br />blinking vertical line which indicates the user's location on the screen) at <br />that location, <br /> <br />Note <br /> <br /> <br />Open Windows <br /> <br />Each stand-alone computer or computer network system is set up <br />differently, Therefore, Windows, a DOS prompt (e,g" C:> or C:\WIN>), <br />or a network Menu may automatically load on the computer. If your <br />computer automatically loads Windows, the screen displayed should look <br />something like the one just below. <br /> <br />If the DOS prompt C:\WIN> is displayed, type WIN, <br /> <br />If the DOS prompt C:> is displayed, type CD\WINDOWS and push the <br />return key. Then, when the C:\WIN prompt is displayed, type WIN. <br /> <br />If a network menu is displayed, select Quattro Pro, <br /> <br />1 <br />
