<br />I <br /> <br />--~__Vg., "'YA :nnp <rnA'IOSmr ~muW1a:'.II - :[a:~ ....-..Vg...w <br /> <br />,"~''''-.l/!i--'' -~ r:'" l:~,~~.. - ,;(." ,.~~~~~)1i'~~7'1 'l,-jlt"~h~i."" <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD i_ <br />823 State Centenn~a1 Bu~ld~ng <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />July 27, 1977 <br /> <br />-............ <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Insurance Study, City of Longmont," which includes Left Hand Creek, <br />St. Vrain River, Spring Creek and Dry Creek, dated July, 1977, has <br />been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc. under contract with the <br />Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Longmont has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the floodplain data and information for Left Hand <br />Creek and St. Vrain River have been previously designated and approved <br />by Board Floodplain Resolution numbers 4 and 24, dated April 7, 1969 <br />anq July 11, 1973, respectively; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the report described in this resolution supplements <br />I but is not intended to revoke the floodplain information set forth in <br />the previous resolutions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revis~d <br />Statutes'1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zo~ing regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and <br />approval by the Colorado ,Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado ,Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff chanrtelsor basins and to make such <br />designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board_haLre:viewed-said-supp-lemental <br />------report-ana-aoes liereoy recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />supplemental report; <br />
