<br />STUDY TO BE DESIGNATED <br />WHEREAS, the U,S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, completed a new <br />floodplain information report entitled "Flood Plain Study, Cache La Poudre River, City of Greeley <br />and Weld County, Colorado" dated October 1999 (Table I, Ref. No.8); and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report contains detailed hydrology and floodplain delineations for the <br />Cache La Poudre River within unincorporated portions of Weld County around Greeley, Colorado, <br />and within the City of Greeley, Colorado from 3 miles east of Greeley, to Weld County Road 23 . <br />near Windsor; and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN CONSISTENCY <br />WHEREAS, the floodplain hydrology contained in said report contains the data from the <br />1988 Corps study (Table I, #2), which is the currently accepted hydrology for the Cache la Poudre <br />River, and is consistent with the Larimer County floodplain reports and the remainder of the Weld <br />County reports. The floodplain delineations contained in said report revises a portion of the <br />previously published Cache La Poudre floodplain delineations for said stream reaches; and <br /> <br />eR.S. AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(!)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30~28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that .. <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for Ian:! uses on or along . <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or ba.sin only after designation and approval by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and apprOve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies oflocal jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH CWCB TECHNICAL STANDARDS <br />WHEREAS, the detailed hydrologic and hydraulic information for the Cache La Poudre <br />. River is consistent with the requirements for deuriled hydrologic and hydraulic information listed <br />under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of <br />Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in ColoradO" (2 CCR 408-1); and <br /> <br />DESIGNATION AND APPROVAL ACTION <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Alamosa, Colorado, this 22nd day of May 2000, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as detailed information the storm or floodwater runoff channels and basins <br />within Weld County and the City of Greeley as described by 100-year floodplain delineations for <br />the Cache La Poudre River in said report dated October 1999; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />') <br />g <br />
