Each day <br />following the disaster, vans travelled <br />into the canyon from both Loveland <br />. and Estes Park making as many stops <br />as necessary to offer food and drink to <br />victims and such workers as the <br />Mennonites and personnel from the <br />Larimer County Sheriff's office, local <br />utilities and other, similar groups. <br /> <br />More than 350 families received <br />some kind of help from the Red Cross <br />in the first two weeks after the flood. <br />In all, direct and mass care assistance <br />disbursed to flood victims and workers <br />totaled nearly $150,000. It should be <br />remembered that all Red Cross <br />disaster assistance is an outright gift- <br />a gift of the American people through <br /> <br />their voluntary contributions to the <br />Red Cross; no repayment is ever <br />asked or expected. <br /> <br />35 <br />
