D. Alternative Evaluation

Summary of Existing Storm Drainagl~ Problems:

As noted earlier in this study, there are currently no significant existing storm
water detention facilities in the vicinity of Dacono, Frederick, Evanston, and
Firestone. In addition, the Tri,Town Drainageway is currently a small earthen
channel with a capacity to convey somewhere between a 2'year and a lO'year
existing condition storm event runoff. Storm events greater than the existing
channel capacity flow overland through the communities causing flooding of
residential homes, businesses, and streets as depicted by the cross hatched areas
shown on Figure 5.

The existing drainage facilities capacities from the south side of the Town of
Frederick, north to Firestone Lake (Mil avec Lake), as shown on Figure 2 are
described in the table below:

Description
8th & Main Street 6'H x 8'W RCB
Open channel 8th to 1 st Streets
1st (WCR 16) 6'H x lO'W RCBC
Open channel WCR 16 to WCR 18
WCR 13 6'H x 50'W Bridge
WCR 18 6'H x 17SW Bridge

Existing Drainage Facilities Capacities

(

Capacity in cfs Source
, 650 RMC
"
335 RMC
710 ACE
660 ACE
-- f--
1,500 ACE
750 ACE

-
Capacity in cfs = prior to overtopping
RMC = Rocky Mountain Consultants
ACE = Anderson Consulting Engineers
WCR = Weld County Road

Summary of Proposed Storm Drainage Solutions:

Based on the three planning scenarios simulated within the [,25 Corridor Master
Drainage Plan Godding Hollo\\' and Tri,To\\'1l Basins SOltih Weld County, those
being:

1.
