<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />II <br />I <br />, I <br />II <br />I <br />I <br />. <br /> <br />PREFACE <br /> <br />This Flood Plain Management Study was prepared by Associated Design <br /> <br /> <br />Professionals, Inc. of Colorado Springs, Colorado for the city of Canon City and the <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board. This study was prepared to provide <br /> <br /> <br />information on the flood hazard areas along the Four-Mile Creek and Mud Gulch <br /> <br />near the City of Canon City, Colorado. The study was developed using initial <br /> <br />information provided by Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and was <br /> <br />supplemented with new mapping and additional field observations. <br /> <br />Included in this study are information on past floods, the potential for future <br /> <br /> <br />floods, flooded area maps, water surface profiles, selected cross sections, peak <br /> <br /> <br />discharge data, and recommendations for reducing potential flood damages. <br /> <br /> <br />The assistance and cooperation provided by the Natural Resources <br /> <br /> <br />ConseI'\'ation Sen.ice, Colorado Water Consen.'ation Board, Fremont County, and the <br /> <br />city of Canon City are appreciated and gratefully acknowledged. <br />
