Granby and Sable Drainageways," dated <br />September, 1990. has been prepared by Kiowa Engineering <br />Corporation. at the request of the Urban Drainage and f'lood <br />Control District in cooperation with the City of Aurora, <br />Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. said report includes detailed floodplain <br />information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels on the <br />Granby Drainageway from confluence upstream 3.4 miles; Sable <br />Drainageway from confluence upstream 1.8 miles; and Sable <br />Overflow from confluence upstream 0.4 miles: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and <br />the City of Aurora have requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section <br />Statutes, requires the <br />assist in the prevention <br />and <br /> <br />37-60-l06(1)(c). Colorado Revised <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom: <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Sections 31.23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes. provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />juriSdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106(1) (c). Colorado Revised <br />Statutes. directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />des igna te and approve storm or f loodwa ter runoff, channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local juriSdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and finds tha tit meets a 11 the appl icable requi rements for <br />designation as approximate floodplain information under the <br />Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval <br />of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in <br />Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); <br /> <br />3719E'" <br />
