An underdrain may be required beneath this chan-
nel section to control ground water levels, and accept under-
drain discharges from sanitary sewers.

The existing conduit beneath Union Blvd. is adequate to carry
~pproximately a 7 year sto~ runoff. This conduit may be cOn-
sidered adequate and no additional improvement necessary. The
master plan calls for installation of a paralleling conduit and
inlet to convey the 10 year storm beneath Union Blvd.

Drawing No. SW-l
At the south end of Main Reservoir, South Weir Gulch flows into
the reservoir beneath West Florida Ave. in two existing 48 inch
reinforced concrete pipes. An additional paralleling conduit
is recommended in the master plan to achieve a 10 year capacity
beneath the road.

From Florida Ave. to pierson St., the gulch is designated for
flood plain ~oning. It is likely that this area will be devel-
oped and final channel improvements should be consistent with
the master planning channel cross section indicated on the de-
sign sheet. A proposed channel invert profile for development is
also indicated on the master plan sheet.

The existing conduits under Pierson St. are adequate to pass the
10 year storID runoff wi~lout overtopping the street.
Presently, the WelCh Ditch crosses South Weir Gulch at Pierson
St. ^ grade separation for the two channels is provided by
the conduits installed under Pierson sts.

From Pierson St. to Station 24+40, thc channel is in the area of
private ownership and should be flood plain ~oned. Proposed
channel profile elevations are shown for possible future develop-
ment of this section of the gulch.
From Station 20+40 to Union Blvd. the channel flows through an
extremely deep, steep sided channel with a relatively narrow
right-of-way. The master plan calls for filling of this area
to an elevation which would permit the construction of a wide,
~h~JJ~w ~i.d~ Rl~~~ ch~nn~J.

-~~2-
