Dear Mr. Harris:

This letter "ill serve as a request to delete the center fork of Sand
Creek from the Soil Conservation Service Flood Hazarn Analyses of Sand
Creek, December 1973, in the portion lying betHeen U. S. HighlJay No. 24
and the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. The request is based
on the following da ta.

The aerials for the S.C.S. study were taken in Harch, 1972 and since
this time said area has experienced approxima tel)' SO? bui Id up into
Single-Family, HuJ.ti-Fal1lily, Commercial and Light Industrial Use. As
this area was platted, appropriate Drainage Studies were submitted to arid
approved by El Paso County.

It is, therefore, recommended that tIle center fork of Sand Creek be
treated as a storm drllinage problem and solution, Ilm1 not as Il flood
zoning arell. A master plan of this general area depicts as constructed
channels ,,,ith their capacities, and is attached for your reference.
