<br />ASFPM Austin 2000 Conference <br />Abstracts & Biographies <br /> <br />Currently, compliance letters are being sent out to each community outlining the results of the <br />CA V. Each community will be provided the opportunity to respond to the CA V findings along <br />with a compliance schedule to resolve the possible violations, <br /> <br />The benefits of this pilot project are numerous, all relating to the expeditious response to <br />floodplain management concerns immediately following a disaster event. <br /> <br />The process allowed FEMA to address these concerns in a large area in a short timeframe, <br />thereby preventing compliance problems from occurring, and to encourage good floodplain <br />management practices, <br /> <br />Biography <br /> <br />John P. Ivey, PE <br />Mr, Ivey joined Halff Associates in 1981 bringing 18 years of diverse engineering and management <br />experience, Mr, Ivey has served as Design Engineer and Project Manager for both public and private <br />sector projects, Representative experience includes: <br /> <br />. Continental Airlines - Line Maintenance Facility and Store Warehouse, Bush Intercontinental <br />Airport Design of 58,000 sf of Apron; Design of 69,000 sf concrete truck area; Design of <br />56,000 sf asphalt parking lot <br />. Watkins Motor Lines - Houston Terminal. Phase I Pavement Rehabilitation Project included <br />removal and replacement of 40,000 sf of 8-inch reinforced concrete pavement <br />. Watkins San Antonio Terminal Expansion civil design for 60,000 sf pavement expansion, <br />drainage design, and preparation of boundary and topographic surveys <br />. Port of Orange Alabama Street Terminal- Pier reconstruction, emergency repairs to dock <br />apron, pile and cap replacement. Design and construction management for terminal entrance, <br />. Jersey Village Corporate Center, Jersey Village, Texas - Civil/Site design of a 75 acre <br />industrial park, 9.7 acre stormwater detention pond, design of West Gulf Bank and Security <br />. - - Way-and-designofinfrastructureto-support Phase I, <r2;400'feetlong c-lM-sf; IrigJrsecurity . <br />warehouse <br />. Fair Park Infrastructure, Dallas, Texas - Halff Associates designed improvements to Fair <br />Park in preparation for the Texas Sesquicentennial including roadways, pedestrian ways, <br />fountains, Fair Park lagoon and landscaping, <br />. White Rock Hike and Bike, Dallas, Texas - Civil site design for six miles of hike and bike <br />trails as part of the White Rock Water Transmission Line corridor. <br /> <br />Page 5 <br />
