No other liver reaches studied in the original 1981 PIS either by d.etailed or <br />approxim<:te methods are revised in the 1995 FIS. The March 16, 1995 revision to the PIS is <br />based upon the foJlowing documents: <br /> <br />· Floodway and Flood Elevations Modifications, Animas River, MP 78.940 to 81.419, La <br />Plata County, Colorado, Goff Engineering and Surveying, Inc., November 10,1992. <br />· 1"=200', 2-foot contour interval topographic mapping by Goff Engineering and Surveying, <br />Inc., I\ovember 10, 1992. <br /> <br />PrEvious to the 1981 PIS, a Flood Hazard Boundary Map was published by the Federal Insurance <br />Administration in 1977. <br /> <br />O!mmunitv Response to the CWCB Desh:!nation ar!!L~llPrOval Process <br />A letter from the CWCB was transmitted to La Plata County regarding the Board's proposed <br />action for designation and approval of the revised La Plata County PIS. The County was <br />receptive 1:0 the Board's proposed designation action and attended a meeting with the CWCB and <br />Montgomery Watson in Durango on September 19" 2000, The County provided information on <br />deficiencks in the effective FIS, areas of growth, a prioritization for future floodplain study work <br />and general floodplain management needs. It was confirmed that major flooding has not <br />occurred in the county since the early 1970's. <br /> <br />4 <br />
