WHeREA.S, Sections' 31-23~30l and 30-28-111, ColOrado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local
jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or
along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
Board; and '

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised, Statutes
1973, directs the, Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate
and approve .storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to
make such designations avai lab1.e to legis lati ve bodies bf local
jurisdictions; and '

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said revised
information and data and does hereby reconunend to 'the Colorado
Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve ,as
floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood
(intermediate regional flood )as described by the floodwater
surface elevations and profile~ in said new report" and further
recorrunends' that the, floodplain designation1'or that portion of
St. Vrain Creek beginning at the centerline crossing of North
l19th Street, thence extending upstream to the centerLine
crossing of North 85th Street (also known as Airport Road) ,as
approved by ReSOlution No. 24, adopted July 11, 1973, be
rescinded;,

NOW, tHeREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the COlorado Water Conser-
vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver ,Colorado,
this 15th daY of March, 1984, that it does hereby designate and
approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being
inundateQ by a lOO-year flood. as' described by the floodwater
surface elevations and profiles in said new report, dated April,
1981, and does hereby rescind that said portion of Resolution
No. 24, dated July 11, 197s;and

BE !T FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board. is
directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the City
of Longmont; the Board of County commissioners o1'Boulder
County. the United States ~rmy Corps of Engineers, Omaha
District; and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
