Specifically, this responds to a letter dated July 27, 1993,
from Mr. Daniel W. Bare II, P.E., Town Engineer, Town of Castle Rock,
regarding the effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for the
unincorporated areas of Douglas County, Colorado. Mr. Bare requeBted that we
revise the effective FIRM to show the effects of channel improvements and
associated culvert construction under an unnamed access road and more
detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analYBes along the Omni Drainageway from
approximately 500 feet upstream of the confluence with East Plum Creek to
approximately 300 feet upstream of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe
Railroad crossing. All of the data required to complete our review of this
request were submitted with Mr. Bare's letters dated July 27 and November
15, 1993.

BecauBe this Letter of Map Revision (LOMa) shows the effects
sponsored flood-control project that reduces flooding
development, fees were not assesBed for the review.

of a publicly
to existing

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown
on the effective FIRM, and have revised the FIRM to modify the flOOdplain
boundary delineations of a flood having a I-percent probability of .being
equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along the Omni Drainageway
from approximately 500 feet upstream of the confluence with East Plum Creek
to approximately 300 feet upBtream of the AtchiBon, Topeka, and Santa Fe
Railroad crossing. These modifications resulted in a decrease in the Special
Flood Hazard Area. The 100-year flood is now contained within the improved
Omni Drainageway channel and the unnamed access road culvert.

The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copy of FIRM Panel
0188 C. This LOMa hereby revises this panel of the effective FIRM dated
September 30, 1987.
