These values represent the
aquifer within a radius of about 4650 ft from the produc-
tion well. The specific yield is representative of the deposits
above the cone of depression and may not be representative
of the aquifer as a whole. Well storage capacity impacts
were negligible before 1 minute of pumping, and partial
penetration impacts were appreciable to a distance of 474 ft
from the production well and were taken into account in the
analysis. Delayed gravity yield impacts were appreciable
until 691 minutes after pumping started.
A step drawdown test was conducted in Case Study 5.7
on April 27, 1954, using a production well near Granite
City, Illinois (see Walton, 1962, pp. 63-64). The medium to
fine grained sand with some gravel aquifer is 106 ft thick.

8 = 2.79 X 105(1)9.0 X 10-1/(2.693 X 10'(4.0 X lO')j
8 = 0.00233

PvlPH = 1.0 X 104(3.0 X 10-1)/4.0 X 10'
PvlPH = 7.5 X 10-2 = 1/13
