Dear Mr, Christensen:

This is in response to a request for a revision to the effective Flood Insurance Study and National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP) map for your community, Specifically, this responds to a letter dated May 17,
1995, from Mr, Daniel W. Bare II, P,E., Engineer III, Town of Castle Rock, regarding the effective
Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for Douglas County, Colorado. With his letter, Mr, Bare provided
additional information to support his February 28, 1995, request for a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR),
Mr. Bare requested that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective FIRM
to show the effects of construction of a storm water sewer system and a detention pond along Tributary C
from approximately 400 feet downstream of Interstate Highway 25 (1-25) to just downstream of the
Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. A portion of the project area shown on the FIRM as within
Douglas County, from approximately 350 feet downstream of 1.25 to just upstream of U ,S. Highway 85,
has been annexed by the Town of Castle Rock,

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with Mr, Bare's February 28 and
May 17 letters and a letter dated April 17, 1995, from Ms. Vera B. Stepanek, P,E" Design Engineer,
Rocky Mountain Consultants, Inc, All fees necessary to process this LOMR, a total of $2,820, have been
received,

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM and
have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineations of a flood having a l.percent
chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along Tributary C from approximately
350 feet downstream of 1.25 to just downstream of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad,

As a result of this project, the base flood is contained in the culvert passing under U,S, Highway 85, The
Special Flood Hazard Area has been removed from just upstream of U .S, Highway 85 to just downstream
of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad.

The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panels 0170 C and 0186 C. This
LOMR hereby revises these panels of the effective FIRM dated September 30, 1987,
