<br />SECTION 00020 <br />INVITATION FOR BIDS <br /> <br />The Town of Crook wi 11 receive Bids for the So.uth l{l!J!.e levee and Jetty <br />Improvements - Phase I until 10 a.m., Mountain D.y1)~f~ ~~s Time on the 28th <br />day of October, 1987, at the office of Mulll~r En9ineelring Company, 7000 West <br />Fourteenth Avenue, lakewood, Colorado 80215 at which time and place all bids will <br />be publicly opened and read aloud. <br /> <br />Bids are invited upon three alternates of work (described in Section 00330 of the <br />Contract Documents), a part ia 1 1 i st i ng of items and max imum auant it ies of wh i ch <br />are as follows: <br /> <br />Item <br /> <br />9uantity <br /> <br />69,600 cubic yards* <br />6,450 cubic yards <br /> <br />levee Embankment <br />Soil-Cement Jetties <br /> <br />*24,000 cubic yards to be hauled by logan County cre~ls and equipment <br /> <br />Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications will be on <br />file after October 12, 1987 at the office of the Engineer, Muller Engineering <br />Company, 7000 West Fourteenth Avenue, lakewood, Colorado 80215 (232-9340); at the <br />Crook Town Hall (866-2222); and at the Dodge Plan Room located at 101 University <br />80u1evard, Suite 260, Denver, Colorado (393-8100). <br /> <br />Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained after September 30th by <br />depositing $45.00 with the Engineer (checks payable to Muller Engineering Company) <br />for each set of documents so obtained. Deposits for Contract Documents are not <br />refundable. <br /> <br />A certified check or bank draft, payable to thE! order of Town of Crook, negotiable <br />U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the <br />Bi dder and an acceptab 1e surety in an amount equa 1 to five percent (51;) of the <br />highest total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. <br /> <br />Attention is called to the fact that not less than the mjinimum salaries and wages <br />as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the <br />Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not <br />discriminated against because of their race, color, re1 igion, sex, or national <br />origin. <br /> <br />A pre-bid conference will be held in the Crook Town Hall on October 21, 1987 at <br />10: 00 a .m. MDT. All prospect ive contractors and sub-contractors are inv ited to <br />attend. <br /> <br />The Town of Crook reserves the right to reject any or elll Bids or to waive any <br />informalities in the bidding. In investigating the qualifications of Bidders, the <br />Town of Crook considers experience with soil cement and favorable references from <br />past projects to be beneficial. The Town of Crook reserves the right to not <br />select the low Bidder. <br /> <br />Bids may be held by the Town of Crook for a pE!riod not to exceed thirty (30) days <br />from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and <br />investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. <br /> <br />00020-.1 <br />
