<br />"Weekly Flood Outlook Report" to 60 users. The major newspapers and television stations in <br />Denver were present at the weekly meetings, also. Their assistance in getting the word out was <br />appreciated. <br /> <br />Comprised primarily of state and federal agency personnel, the task force monitored the <br />snowmelt and associated rising river levels. Agency <br /> <br />U.S. Army Corps of Engineers <br /> <br />U.S. Geological Survey <br /> <br />U.S. Bureau of Reclamation <br /> <br />John Henz Meteorwgical Services <br /> <br />By proclamation, provides emergency assistance and makes <br />emergency funds available. <br /> <br />Development and leadership of the Colorado Flood Task Force. <br />Snowpack monitoring and forecasting. <br /> <br />Streamflow monitoring and forecasting. Dam safety assessment. <br /> <br />Flood preparedness activities. Coordinate efforts with Governor's Office. <br /> <br />Authorize flood response expenditures and equipment for future <br />mitigation activities. <br /> <br />Monitor landslide and mudflow potential. <br /> <br />Monitor snowpack and issue reports. <br /> <br />7-day weather reports and issuance of statements and warnings to <br />the public. <br /> <br />Flood insurance, recovery, preparedness and mitigation activities. <br /> <br />Flood disaster response programs, technical assistance for <br />preparedness and mitigation. Flood protection through reservoir <br />operations. <br /> <br />Monitor stream flow gaging stations in Colorado. <br /> <br />Flood protection through reservoir operations. <br /> <br />3D-day weather reports and issue statements and warnings to <br />Colorado Flood Task Force. <br /> <br />During the months of May and June, the Flood Task Force met each Monday morning <br />with briefings to the public and media about the flood threat status. Sometimes those briefings <br />weren't that pleasant since high water contributed to twenty-one flood-related deaths.
