<br />FLOOD PLAIN MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The need for adequate floodways to carry the flows of Coal Creek <br />and ock Creek has been recognized by city and county planners. Subdividers <br />and evelopers are required to submit proposed storm drainage plans to <br /> <br /> <br />the ounty planning commission for approval. In the past, drainage <br /> <br /> <br />plan have been prepared singularly or on a plat-by-plat basis. Information <br /> <br /> <br />cont ined in this report will be useful in developing a master drainage <br /> <br /> <br />plan for the entire Coal and Rock Creek study area. Primary purpose of <br /> <br /> <br />this report is to provide the outline of flood hazard areas on large <br /> <br /> <br />scal photomaps and to update flood hazard studies which were conducted <br /> <br /> <br />prev ously. <br /> <br />Floo Plain Regulations <br /> <br />This study has been conducted in accordance with state technical <br /> <br />requ rements as required for review and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Cons rvation Board. Section 37-60-106. Colorado Revised Statutes 1973 <br />auth rlzes the Colorado Water Conservation Board "to designate and <br />appr ve storm or floodwater channels or basins. and to make such desig- <br />nati ns available to legislative bodies of cities and incorporated <br /> <br />town, to county planning commissions. and to boards of adjustment of <br /> <br /> <br />citi 5, incorporated towns, and counties of the state."
