Additional Permits <br />The local floodplain administrator must make sure the proposed <br />activity meets the standards of the National Flood Insurance Pro- <br />gram. In reviewing an application, the key is that the proposed <br />activity itself must be safe from flooding and it must not increase the <br />flood hazard to other areas, <br />The local floodplain administrator should be able to tell the applicant <br />when the additionai permit might be required.
