<br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the _ <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and .. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH CWCB TECHNICAL STANDARDS <br />WHEREAS, the approximate floodplain information presented in said report dated. <br />September 1990 for the City and County of Denver is not consistent with the requirements for <br />approximate floodplain information listed under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the <br />Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in <br />Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1) due to the fact that hydrologic analyses and 100-year peak flow values <br />were not developed or are not available for the flooding sources as listed in Table 3; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CWCB's Guidelines for Determining IOO-year Flood Flows for <br />Approximate Floodplains in Colorado do not provide a regional regression equation for estimating <br />100-year peak flow values for streams within the City of Denver or the Urban Drainage and Flood <br />Control District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Denver should follow local floodplain ordinances and Federal <br />Regulations concerning floodplain development and construction activities within the approximate <br />(Zone A) floodplain areas, as listed in Table 3, and require that detailed hydrologic analyses be <br />performed by a registered professional engineer and submitted by the developer prior to a <br />floodplain development permit being issued; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information presented in said report dated September <br />1990 for the City and County of Denver is consistent with the requirements for detailed floodplain <br />information listed under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of <br />Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1) <br /> <br />DESIGNATION AND APPROVAL ACTION <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this 20th day of March 2000, that it does <br />hereby designate and approve as approximate 100-year floodplain information the Zone A areas <br />presented in said report (with included Flood Insurance Rate Maps) dated September 1990, and as <br />listed in Table 3, providing that the City of Denver require that detailed hydrologic analyses be <br />performed by a registered professional engineer and submitted by the developer prior to a <br />floodplain development permit being issued; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board that it does <br />hereby designate and approve as detailed floodplain information the 100-year floodplain <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />4 <br />
