UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Area Delineation, Piney Creek, Cottonwood Creek, Lone Tree C1:eek &.' <br />Murphy Creek," dated October, 1975, and covering areas of Arapahoe and <br />Douglas Counties, has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., at <br />the request of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District has <br />requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve the floodplain area as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires ,he Colorado Water Copservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damagFs therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such leg~slative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and <br />approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Con&ervation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff cuannels or basins and to make such <br />designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the ~oard has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the ColoradO Water Conservation Board that <br />the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated <br />by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the <br />floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; <br /> <br />.... . - <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLvED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board in regular meeting asse~bled in Denver, Colorado, this <br />14th day of January, 1976 that it does hereby designate and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100- <br />year flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
