WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Piney Creek, Cottonwood Creek, Lone Tree C1:eek &.'
Murphy Creek," dated October, 1975, and covering areas of Arapahoe and
Douglas Counties, has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., at
the request of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and the
Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District has
requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve the floodplain area as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires ,he Colorado Water Copservation Board to assist in the
prevention of floods and flood damagFs therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such leg~slative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and
approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the Colorado Water Con&ervation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff cuannels or basins and to make such
designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and

WHEREAS, the staff of the ~oard has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the ColoradO Water Conservation Board that
the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated
by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the
floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLvED by the Colorado Water Conser-
vation Board in regular meeting asse~bled in Denver, Colorado, this
14th day of January, 1976 that it does hereby designate and approve as
floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100-
year flood as set forth in said report; and
