Specifically, we would like for the CWCB staff to review the
FEMA report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City of Thomton, Colorado", dated
January 19, 1982, for designation and approval at the CWCB's Board meeting
scheduled for March 1999.

The City's most current FEMA floodplain information is contained in the 1995
Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Adams County and Incorporated Areas, however, it
is our understanding that the 1982 Flood Insurance Study was never adopted by
the state. CWCB designation of the 1982 and 1985 study will ensure that our flood
insurance determinations and floodplain management decisions between 1982
and 1985 are legally enforceable according to the Colorado Revised Statues.

If you have any comments or questions, please call me at 303-538-7387.

Sincerely,

~//

City Engineer

~

c: Bud Elliot, Public Works Director
File: Correspondence

FCI022599.100yr1loodhazardareaslca
"The City of Planned Progress"
