DESCRIPTION OF TASKS AND DETAILED COST ESTIMATES <br /> <br />The tasks and cost estimates are those prepared by the members of Corps team for the <br />work in their areas of expertise, Those estimates and the scopes of work were used to <br />prepare the overall cost estimate and to estimate the in-kind services, <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />1.0 CULTURAL RESOURCES <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />CLASS I CULTURAL RESOURCES INVENTORY <br />FOR A FLOOD DAMAGE REDUCTION & ENVIRONMENTAL <br />RESTORATION STUDY ON THE CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER, <br />GREELEY, COLORADO <br /> <br />PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br /> <br />The purpose of this work is to meet the Department of the Army's federal preservation <br />legislation and associated implementing regulations as they relate to cultural resources <br />that may be affected by flood control measures, which may be proposed for a portion of <br />the Cache la Poudre River at Greeley, Colorado. The most pertinent for this <br />investigation are the following: Public Law 74-292, Historic Sites Act of 1935, as <br />amended; Public Law 89-665, National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 as amended; <br />Public Law 91-190, National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 as amended; Public Law <br />95-341, American Indian Religious Freedom Act; Public Law 101-601, and the Native <br />American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act; implementing regulations 36 CFR <br />Parts 60 and 61, Appendix A; and 36 CFR Part 800. <br /> <br />A, The major focus of this scope is the preparation of an inventory of all known cultural <br />resources, including archeological sites and traditional cultural properties, <br /> <br />B. The work will consist of the following: <br /> <br />1. A review and summary of all cultural resources background literature covering <br />the project area; and <br /> <br />2, Report preparation; and <br /> <br />3, Creation of a GIS shape file and index of the cultural sites enumerated within <br />----lhe report, <br /> <br />For the purposes of this study, cultural resources are defined as prehistoric and historic <br />archeological sites and traditional cultural properties. Cultural resources are defined as <br />any site, building, district, structure, object, data, or material significant in history, <br />architecture, archeology, or culture, Traditional cultural properties can generally be <br />defined as properties that are eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic <br />Places because of an association with cultural or spiritual practices and beliefs of a <br />living community that are important in maintaining the continuing cultural identity of the <br />community, <br /> <br />11 <br />
