WHEREAS, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District,
completed a floodplain information report entitled "Volume VI Denver
Metropolitan Region, Colorado," dated October, 1971, which included
Goldsmith Gulch; and

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested
bT the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolution adopted
" December 15, 1971, approved and designated the floodplains described
in said Volume VI; and

WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Goldsmith Gulch and Tributaries," dated
June, 1976, has been prepared by Gingery, Associates, Inc. at the
request of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, the City and
County of Denver, the City of Greenwood Village, and Arapahoe County;
and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District has
requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973,
requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the pre-
vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised"
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along"any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and
approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

-approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such
designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and
