S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, <br />completed a floodplain information report entitled "Volume VI Denver <br />Metropolitan Region, Colorado," dated October, 1971, which included <br />Goldsmith Gulch; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />bT the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolution adopted <br />" December 15, 1971, approved and designated the floodplains described <br />in said Volume VI; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Area Delineation, Goldsmith Gulch and Tributaries," dated <br />June, 1976, has been prepared by Gingery, Associates, Inc. at the <br />request of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, the City and <br />County of Denver, the City of Greenwood Village, and Arapahoe County; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District has <br />requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the pre- <br />vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised" <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along"any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and <br />approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />" WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) (c), Colorad.o__~gl,7:ise_d_Statutes-- <br />19?~,__d:i.l:ec_ts_the- Color-ado-.water-ConservatTon-Board to designate and <br />-approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such <br />designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed the revised and <br />
