4

will be computed and presented for existing and post-construction
conditions.
The post-construction conditions will use the proposed flood
control project design features. These features will be described
and discussed in the final design section.

3. Flood Boundary Deli nea t ions

A delineat'ion of the floodplains will include:
o 100-and 500-year boundaries (existing and post-construction).
o Location and alignment of cross sections, flood elevation refer-
ence 1 ines, and flowl ine s':,ationing used in the hydraul ic
analysis model.

4. Field Control Surveys

The consultant will complete the follow'ing survey tasks for the
floodplain analysis and flood control project design.
a) Acquisition of recent aerial photography frocl the U.5 .D.A.
ASCS Aerial Photography Field Office of the study reach at
a scale 1" = 200'.
b) Estab 1 i shment of a base suv'vey 1 i ne for the proposed 1 evee
system ,3nd center 1 ine of the floodway channel (PLATE 1).
The base survey line will be identified in the field so that
it can be re-established at the time of construction or if
needed for other uses. Th'is survey will be a controlled
traverse survey with monum~!ntati on.
c) Survey of cross-sections of the existing channel and the
overflow channel at locations designated by the consultant
and approved by thE! town or their representatives. Cross
sections will be extended il Illinimum of 100-feet either side
of the design floodplain.
d) Survey of channel and valll~Y cross-sections for' hydrillJlic
routings. These cross-sections shall be located between
County Road 19 and County Road 23. In addition, the consu'ltant
'I:
will select additional design cross sections as necessary.
